Projects

See below for key projects from over a decade of communications management and strategy experience. From managing communications for a progressive public policy organization to a $250 million international development portfolio to running a theater workshop with 30 carpenters, I have dealt with unqiue challenges and always delivered creative results.

Association of American Publishers
(2022 - Present)

As Senior Director of Communications, I worked to strategically position and empower publishers and authors and support the book industry as whole, advancing the policy and creative interests of the U.S. publishing industry on issues such as copyright, freedom of expression and combatting banned books.

In 2022, I was elected to the International Publishers Association Freedom to Publish Committee representing American publisher interests to combat censorship and strengthen the freedom to publish to this international body.

Main STreet Alliance - COVID19 RESPONSE
(2019 - 2022)

Built a media relations program from the ground up to advocate for progressive job quality policies around the U.S, increasing placements by 600% percent from the previous year’s contracted PR company and doubled social media engagement. Defined the small business narrative during the COVID-19 crisis, including major equity gaps of the relief packages. With over 2,000 media hits in 6 months and a digital campaign reaching over 15 million views, I strategically elevated small business member voices to build advocacy and political power.

Co-op Festival
(2017-2018)

Led partnerships as well as digital engagement for this 20,000 attendee event on the National Mall, doubling partners in the second year.

international development portfolio
(2015 - 2019)

Lead the communications strategy and manage editorial content for a $250 million portfolio including 6 communications specialists across 20 countries. Key branding and messaging partners include USAID, USDA, Mastercard Foundation and NGO partners.

Cooperative Business Journal
(2016 - 2019)

Digital Media Editor for the seminal journal on cooperative business issues, including producing the PostScript Video Series that accompanies each issue and increases readership engagement by 15 percent with each new video.

Stomp out malaria national strategy
(2014)

Led the development of a national social behavior change strategy for Peace Corps Ethiopia’s Stomp Out Malaria program, bringing national partners to the table.
